Moving toward our Vision: Meeting Sunday @ 9:30am

Please join us at 9:30 am this Sunday (Jan. 20) as we talk and pray together about some of the practical implications of moving toward our vision as a church.

For the month of January we’ve been taking a closer look at what it will take to see our vision at Westgate become reality in the days ahead. So far we’ve looked at the Gospel as Center—why the gospel of Jesus must be central to our lives, relationships, and mission, and what practical difference it makes. Then we looked at Gospel Identity—how the gospel shapes our identity as a family of missionary servants.

If, as we saw last Sunday, in Christ we are a family of worshipers, learners, servants, and missionaries, then moving toward our vision involves everyone seeking and serving the Lord together. That’s why we want to make opportunities for all of us to talk and pray about these matters together—to learn from one another, encourage one another, and think together about how our vision helps us evaluate what we’re presently doing and where God might lead us from here.

For our first meeting (Jan. 20), we’ll meet in the Fellowship Hall during the normal Christian Education hour. Regular adult and high school Sunday School classes will not meet so that all will be free to join us. Then, after looking at Gospel Mission (Jan. 20) and Gospel Rhythms (Jan. 27), we’ll meet again over lunch on Jan. 27 to continue to seek the Lord for practical steps in moving forward together on mission. We will also hold our pre-annual meeting at the conclusion of our vision discussion.

We’re excited to see what God has yet to do through Westgate to magnify his name and bring men and women to himself. “To God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Eph. 3:21).
