Bruce Daggett

Daggett Bruce and KarenBruce has been on staff at Westgate Church since 2000, serving in a variety of roles which include or have included: small groups, discipleship, singles ministry, youth group, Christian education, Children’s Ministry, counseling, pastoral care, preaching, prayer ministry and outreach.  He became co-Pastor with Travis in early 2020.

Bruce served at Watertown Evangelical Church where he pastored for seventeen years. That ministry was preceded by two years in Connecticut as Assistant Pastor of Nepaug Church and church planting pastor of Northwest Bible Church. Bruce received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut, his Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He has also served as a VISTA (think AmeriCorp) volunteer in northwest Arkansas and Adjunct Professor of Counseling at the Seminary of the East. He was a spokesperson for the Parents’ Rights Bill in Massachusetts, and a volunteer in public school teaching and coaching roles in Watertown and Natick. He and the love of his life, Karen, a Spanish Instructor at Boston College, raised two wonderful adult sons and have two precious granddaughters.

Though his competitive basketball playing days are over, Bruce still enjoys sports of all kinds, especially as a rabid fan of UConn basketball and a struggling fantasy football coach. His life verse is 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”
