Mercy and Outreach

Our Vision

An important part of our vision is bearing witness to Christ through faithful and clear proclamation matched with merciful and loving service. We see our witness being borne out in the following contexts:

  • Every member living as a missionary, treating every sphere of their personal lives as a mission field (e.g. home, work, church, school, grocery store)
  • Home Groups and other ministries within the church partnered together to advance the gospel through their own unique focus
  • Congregation-wide partnership in church planting and other strategic initiatives or events
  • Kingdom-wide partnerships with fellow laborers in the MetroWest and New England and with missionaries across the globe

Our Service

As the gospel transforms our hearts from being inwardly to outwardly focused, church members have found innumerable places and ways to serve.  People of Westgate lead two nursing home ministries and serve at the Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices.  We assist families of those who have been incarcerated by providing dinners at The Bridge House, collecting presents for children through Angel Tree and coming alongside woman at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution in Framingham.  We provide Christmas presents for needy children around the world through Samaritan's Purse. We serve those who serve us by bringing desserts to fire and police stations and holding a luncheon for postal workers.  We come alongside the homeless by serving at various shelters.  We are providing meals and transportation for cancer patients and those unable to drive.  We make prayer shawls to encourage those who are ill as a display of our prayers for them.  We have shoveled driveways, mown lawns, raked leaves, painted houses and hosted a baby shower for neighbors who have had hardships.  The Lord continually shows us ways to be His hands and feet to our neighbors in need.
